The 'NEC presents FUJI & SUN ’26' event was held on June 6 (Sat) and 7 (Sun) at 'Fuji Children's Country' in Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture. This event, now in its seventh year, drew approximately 10,000 attendees over two days, setting a new record for the highest turnout.

Three music stages featured a total of 24 artists. The headliner on the first day was the popular project 'JAZZ NOT ONLY JAZZ,' led by drummer Ishiwaka Shun, which also included Oohashi Trio and Tashima Takao. The grand finale on the second day was performed by 'Never Young Beach.' Music transcending genres and generations was performed at the foot of Mt. Fuji.

Programs such as Kids' Trail Running and Fire Starting Challenge, led by professional adventure racer Tanaka Yoki and Yokote Teiichiro (Positive Link Studio), were also very popular. Over 50 children participated in the 'Kids' Trail Running' event held on the second day morning and ran around the venue.

The first day, June 6 (Sat), was a comfortable day with occasional sunshine peeking through the clouds, but on the second day, June 7 (Sun), it started raining in the afternoon. Incidentally, the same day, the start of the rainy season was announced for the Kanto, Shinetsu, and Tokai regions. 'I knew it would come,' attendees put on colorful rainwear with practiced hands and enjoyed the two days of music and nature, including the sound of rain.

The 'FUJI & SUN ’27' event has also been decided to be held. Details will be announced later.

DAY1

On the first day, a total of 13 acts performed, including Kururi, Humbert Humbert, Tashima Takao (Original Love), YOUR SONG IS GOOD (CHILL & DUB), JAZZ NOT ONLY JAZZ in FJSN (Ishiwaka Shun × Watanabe Shota × Marty Holobek) feat. Oohashi Trio & Tashima Takao, Kimyo Reitaro, Shibata Satoshi (BAND SET), Shappo, Kitamura Suketaro, Umei Misaki, HAL & Baku, Super Mountain Club, and TOP DOCA.

MOON STAGE/YOUR SONG IS GOOD (CHILL & DUB)

The MOON STAGE began with the sound of waves echoing in the foothills. YOUR SONG IS GOOD (CHILL & DUB), a four-piece band without drums, appeared. The audience's heightened expectations of 'It's finally starting!' were calmly settled by the gentle waves and comfortably rhythmic beats. 'This is the kind of thing,' they said, providing a mellow opening suitable for a highland morning.

SUN STAGE/Shibata Satoshi

The first act on the SUN STAGE was Shibata Satoshi, who made his first appearance with a band set. As soon as he appeared on stage, the audience was naturally drawn forward. He performed 'Your Favorite Things,' 'Travel,' 'Regret,' and 'White Chair' consecutively. The words 'Best~' were heard here and there as they were showered with Shibata Satoshi's sound. Although the goddess of Mt. Fuji did not appear from the thick clouds, the muse on stage sang 14 songs and wrapped the venue in happiness.

MOON STAGE/Tashima Takao (Original Love)

Tashima Takao (Original Love), who made his first appearance since the first event in 2019, took the stage at the MOON STAGE. With the first song 'BODY FRESHER,' he instantly captured the entire MOON AREA. Playing the saxophone, guitar, harmonica, and singing, he performed with all his might, and the audience leaned forward to watch. 'When I came out front, there were people who were listening while taking a nap. It makes me happy to hear you listen like this,' he said, wiping the sweat from his face with a towel. In 'The Path Lit by the Morning Sun,' the blue sky peeked through the clouds. Was the sky moved? It was overwhelming.

SUN STAGE/Humbert Humbert

On the SUN STAGE, Humbert Humbert, who recently started a radio program, began with a talk and then started singing leisurely. He performed a total of 12 songs, including 'I've been waiting for a long time,' 'The same story,' 'Tiger,' and 'Laughing and Falling Down,' which became the theme song for an morning drama. Between songs, he lightened the mood with trivial topics such as stories about his family and people he saw. 'The Big Banquet' was played slowly, and the cover of 'Lesson 1' by Kagawa Yoshiyuki was heart-piercing. Many families were seen enjoying themselves, but I sincerely hoped that we could live in a world where we could laugh and talk nonsense with each other forever.

MOON STAGE/Kimyo Reitaro

So many people gathered at the MOON STAGE of Kimyo Reitaro that one might think there would be an entry restriction. Of the 12 songs he sang, more than half were familiar cover songs. With his unique, high-pitched voice that resonated far away, he sang the original songs 'Tennoji Girl' and 'Scatter, Scatter, Full,' and in between, he sang 'Red Sweet Pea' and 'Ukikuki WATCHING.' The audience hummed along to the many familiar songs. 'They're singing for us~,' they said, joining in a big chorus. In 'Oh, Champs-Elysees,' the voices of the children also resonated loudly.

SUN STAGE/Kururi

Kururi appeared on the SUN STAGE at dusk. They appeared with Ishiwaka Shun on drums. Although it was their second consecutive appearance, 'Can you see Mt. Fuji? Actually, I've never seen it,' said vocalist Kishida Shigehisa. With 'WORLD'S END SUPERNOVA,' they resisted the dropping temperature, and with 'C'est la vie,' they raised the perceived temperature. With 'Highway,' 'Baranohana,' and then 'Wandering,' they created a sense of unity with the audience singing along to the chorus, 'Ho~bo~, Ho~bo~...' which was easy to sing.

SUN STAGE/JAZZ NOT ONLY JAZZ in FJSN (Ishiwaka Shun × Watanabe Shota × Marty Holobek)

The last act on the first day was a spin-off of the 'JAZZ NOT ONLY JAZZ' event titled 'JAZZ NOT ONLY JAZZ in FJSN (Ishiwaka Shun × Watanabe Shota × Marty Holobek).' It was a special session featuring Tashima Takao, Oohashi Trio, and Hina (Super Mountain Club) as guest vocalists. In the thick fog unique to the foothills of Mt. Fuji, the stage was colored with a voluminous bass and a fantastical reflection of light. The session ended with a grand finale of 'Kiss.'

DAY2

On the second day, a total of 11 acts performed, including Never Young Beach, Hanaregumi, KIRINJI (acoustic), cero, Fujihara Sakura, Kimijima Hiroshi, Terai Saho, Yuuka, Chiza DOPENESS, CHO CO PA CO CHO CO QUIN QUIN, and Shin Makoto.

MOON STAGE/Yuuka

The second day opened with Yuuka on the MOON STAGE. She appeared with a bright smile and woke up FUJI & SUN with mid-tempo songs such as 'Summer Window' and 'June.' The audience swayed their bodies to 'Don't Remember Me' and stood up, and with 'Petillant,' her elongated voice circulated throughout their bodies. It was like being given nutrition for the morning, such a feeling.
