As of April 2026, Eisai Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Eisai") will newly participate in the "Tokyo-1 Project" (hereinafter "Tokyo-1").
The Tokyo-1 project aims to revolutionize domestic drug discovery research through a private-sector-led community, utilizing cutting-edge AI services and supercomputers with high-speed, large-capacity computing power.
To date, in addition to collaborations with domestic and international tech companies and AI solution vendors, participation from partner companies in the pharmaceutical industry has also been expanding. Furthermore, since the launch of Tokyo-1, working groups (WGs) where participating companies' practitioners engage in discussions and exchange opinions have been held over 60 times in total, continuously expanding opportunities for knowledge sharing and mutual learning within the community. Additionally, sub-working groups (SWGs), where participating companies assign members to jointly verify technologies through hands-on work, have completed up to theme number 5, and the next theme is under consideration.
Tokyo-1 not only provides diverse solutions to support AI drug discovery but also functions as a platform for participating companies to collaborate beyond organizational boundaries and challenge themselves to create new value together. With Eisai's participation, we believe that collaboration and co-creation among companies within the Tokyo-1 community will further expand.
Zeureka will continue to aim for further development in the pharmaceutical industry by deepening a platform where many companies, organizations, and technology providers can co-create and collaborate by leveraging their respective strengths, and will work on the continuous operation and development of Tokyo-1.
