Yachiyo Solutions Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Taito-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takashi Mizuno; hereinafter 'Yachiyo Solutions') has released a case study on the implementation of its factory management system 'MENTENA' at the Moka Plant of IJTT Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Yokohama, Kanagawa; President and CEO: Tatsuya Suzuki), a manufacturer and distributor of automotive and industrial machinery components. This case study highlights the establishment of an on-site foundation for leveraging advanced technologies such as AI and the process of strengthening maintenance capabilities by moving away from paper-based operations.

About IJTT Co., Ltd.
Founded in 2013, IJTT Co., Ltd. manufactures key components (forged, cast, and machined parts) for automobiles, construction machinery, and industrial robots. The Moka Plant, where MENTENA was primarily introduced, operates numerous automated unmanned lines utilizing robots and loaders, establishing a highly efficient production system. The plant aims to become 'the most desirable workplace in the world,' embracing the concept of 'factory as a theme park (constantly evolving)' and continuously challenging new frontiers toward a sustainable society.
Background and Challenges
● Lack of Digital Infrastructure
Inspection results were recorded on paper, preventing immediate sharing and utilization of information, resulting in inefficiencies in inspection tasks. Additionally, manual transcription into Excel at the office created further operational burdens.
● Physical Limitations of Analog Operations
Years of paper-based operations made real-time aggregation of repair times and searching historical records difficult, leading to information silos.
● Time Delays in Initiating Repairs
When malfunctions occurred, staff had to physically travel between the production floor and the maintenance station to issue repair requests, causing 'walking losses' and communication delays.
To address these challenges and build infrastructure capable of evolving for the next 100 years, IJTT decided to implement MENTENA.
Results After Implementation
● Reduced Time to Initiate Repairs (saving 2 hours per day)
By simply scanning QR codes attached to equipment, repair requests can now be submitted on-site, significantly reducing physical travel time. Field reports indicate approximately 2 hours of labor savings per day.
● Information Visualization and Elimination of Information Silos
Repair histories and durations are now digitized, enabling real-time status monitoring. This allows for accurate prioritization and efficient maintenance based on historical data.
● Shift Toward Proactive Maintenance and Knowledge Transfer
In addition to improving reactive maintenance, the plant is building a system for preventive maintenance by detecting early signs of failure. The time saved through digitalization is being redirected toward training junior staff and performing advanced overhaul tasks, strengthening technical knowledge transfer.
In the future, IJTT plans to integrate MENTENA with vibration sensors and other technologies to build an advanced preventive maintenance system capable of detecting anomalies before equipment stops, aiming to achieve 'zero failures'.
In the case study video, IJTT representatives provide specific insights into the benefits achieved through MENTENA implementation.
