Yachiyo Solutions Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Taito-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takashi Mizuno; hereinafter 'Yachiyo Solutions') announces that its factory management system 'MENTENA' will begin offering a new optional feature in August 2026. This feature enables cross-plant and cross-location inventory search for manufacturing companies managing equipment across multiple facilities and sites, allowing them to locate spare parts and inventory dispersed across different locations.

Details of the New Feature

For manufacturers operating multiple plants, when unexpected equipment downtime occurs, the speed of recovery depends not only on identifying the cause and initiating repairs but also on how quickly replacement parts can be secured. However, due to higher-than-expected parts consumption or sudden failures, it is not uncommon for a single site to lack the necessary inventory.

In such cases, companies with multiple plants may transfer parts between facilities. However, when parts catalogs are managed separately by plant or business unit, during urgent downtime situations, it becomes difficult to know 'which plant has the part' or 'who is in charge.' This often requires contacting each plant individually via phone or email to confirm inventory availability and usability, leading to prolonged recovery times.

Even when the required parts exist within the company, failure to quickly access this information results in time-consuming searches and coordination, prolonging equipment downtime and causing production losses. In manufacturing environments where downtime costs are high, delays of even tens of minutes or hours can impact overall production schedules and corporate profitability.

MENTENA has previously enabled the management of multiple plants (locations) within a single tenant, allowing cross-facility inventory searches. However, for companies operating across multiple tenants, information silos between tenants have posed challenges in efficiently locating parts.

With the new cross-location search functionality, users with viewing permissions can now search across multiple tenants for parts and inventory. From a parts detail screen, users can initiate a search using a part number and instantly view a list of matching parts across other tenants, including part names, manufacturers, stock quantities, and responsible contacts. Users can also directly navigate to the detailed part screen. This enables rapid identification of part locations, significantly reducing the time required for parts discovery.

Cross-Location Search Concept

Additionally, as equipment ages and spare parts become obsolete or difficult to procure, the ability to quickly identify existing internal inventory helps reduce equipment downtime risks by effectively utilizing existing stock. Furthermore, by enabling cross-plant inventory checks before purchasing new parts, the system supports better utilization of surplus inventory and prevents duplicate purchases.

'This feature has been a long-standing request from major enterprises across various industries. When unexpected failures lead to part shortages, procuring new parts can take weeks or even months. For production sites under pressure to recover quickly, this waiting time is extremely costly. If surplus inventory exists at another plant or site, it can help avoid an immediate crisis. MENTENA aims to create a factory management system where not only inventory but also equipment data, know-how, and maintenance plans can be shared seamlessly across locations.'
