The world's finest crocodile: Australian Porosus Crocodile Leather. From numerous stocks, only a select few are chosen. Beyond being free from scratches and scuffs, we rigorously inspect the symmetry of the scales, the balance of the center line, and even the play of light and shadow. We exclusively use hides from large individuals, specifically the belly (腹部 - 'fu'). To match the tote bag's size, we cut a single piece of leather where the scale pattern is most beautifully displayed, creating a seamless construction that exudes an unwavering presence. A unique color born from the power of nature. We have revived the 'legendary purple,' once permitted only for emperors in ancient Rome, through modern craftsmanship. The dye is derived from the minute mucus secreted from the hypobranchial gland of the Murex snail. The metal-free tanned leather is carefully coated with the dye by hand. The yellowish-white mucus slowly turns purple when exposed to ultraviolet light through 'gara-boshi' (air drying). Instead of artificially fixing the color, we harness the power of nature to achieve its hue, creating the depth and subtle variations unique to Murex purple.

Adding Gold to the Edges of the Scales: A Quiet Dignity

24K Pure Gold Powder and Custom-Designed 24K Gold-Plated Hardware. Pure gold powder is meticulously applied by hand with a brush to the edges of the crocodile leather scales, subtly accentuating their three-dimensionality and contours. Furthermore, all hardware for the premium model is custom-designed. The surface features microporous plating, approximately four times thicker than standard plating, and the handle hardware and bottom studs are finished with 0.7μm thick 24K gold.
