Kyoto-based Yasaka to launch original Tomica models

Yasaka Group, which operates taxi and hire services primarily in Kyoto, in collaboration with Yasaka Sightseeing Bus and Yasaka Bus, has announced the launch of Yasaka original Tomica die-cast miniature cars.

For the first time, three major vehicle types of the Yasaka Group—the Yasaka Taxi (Toyota JPN TAXI), Yasaka Sightseeing Bus (Isuzu GALA), and Yasaka Bus (Isuzu ERGA)—have been produced as Tomica models (manufactured by Takara Tomy Arts). These will be available for pre-sale at the Tomica booth during the 25th Surutto KANSAI Bus Festival scheduled for June 7, 2026, at Expo '70 Commemorative Park in Suita, Osaka.

The Yasaka Group previously produced original Tomica models until the early 2000s. However, after a long hiatus, they began receiving numerous requests via social media and events to bring them back. The high number of inquiries during their first participation in the 24th Surutto KANSAI Bus Festival was a major driver for this decision.
