Yamato Co., Ltd., which handles the gift business for the Onward Group, will launch a new food gift service called 'Miyage Gift' on June 1, 2026. In recent years, the way people give 'souvenirs' is changing due to concerns about carrying food in extreme heat and the difficulty of managing temperature for refrigerated or frozen items. 'Miyage Gift' is a 'no-carry' food gift service where the giver purchases a compact gift package at a store, and the recipient selects their preferred items from a dedicated website to be delivered at their convenience. The service will be available at direct-managed stores and the online shop 'PRESENTERS ROOM' starting June 1, with a rollout to department stores and supermarkets planned from September 1. The development was driven by the fact that extreme heat has made traditional souvenir-giving more difficult. A survey revealed that while 85% of people give food as gifts, 51.8% have abandoned their choice due to concerns about shelf life, weight, or refrigeration. To address these issues, the service offers 10 categories of gourmet food, including refrigerated and frozen items. By using a QR code, it provides a smart, stress-free gift experience for both the giver and the recipient.
