Yokohama Bay Quarter, a shopping mall at the east exit of Yokohama Station operated by Yokohama Dia Building Management Co., Ltd. (Location: Kanagawa-ku, Yokohama; President: Takeo Fukui), will host the summer illumination event 'Yokohama Lantern Night' from Saturday, May 30 to Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

Well-received since 2019, this event has gathered attention as a summer tradition in Yokohama. This year, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the facility's opening, the event will be upgraded with a record-high 1,000 lanterns inside the building, and photo spots expanded to three locations including the main square. Colorful lanterns, each handmade by Vietnamese artisans, will brightly decorate the entire venue.

In addition to the Ao Dai dress-up experience that was popular last year and a lottery to win a round-trip ticket to Vietnam in cooperation with Vietnam Airlines, this year offers diverse content. This includes a 'Lantern Painting Experience' for families to enjoy, and a special program 'Grown-up's Late Night' where adults can comfortably enjoy the evening.

'Grown-up's Late Night' is an event where visitors can feel the worldview of Yokohama Bay Quarter's concept, 'Otori Resort' (Neighboring Resort). Surrounded by the gentle light of the lanterns and the pleasant evening breeze, guests can chat with loved ones and spend a relaxing time. It provides a special moment to fully enjoy the evening hours at Yokohama Bay Quarter, as if enjoying a late night at a resort.

Please enjoy the special 'Yokohama Lantern Night' commemorating the 20th anniversary.

A Special Lantern Night Commemorating the 20th Anniversary: A Record 1,000 Lanterns Gently Wrap the Venue

A special lantern night to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the opening.

Decorating the venue are approximately 1,000 lanterns, the most ever. The colorful lights, carefully tailored one by one by Vietnamese artisans, gorgeously stage the space with vibrant colors during the day, and while enveloping it in soft light at night, invite you into a magical world brimming with exoticism.

A new highlight this year is the 'Lantern Cube', about 4m high. Stepping into the space surrounded by lanterns on all four sides unfolds an unprecedented immersive experience enveloped in light. Furthermore, a photo spot inspired by lantern-selling stalls reminiscent of the townscape of Hoi An, Vietnam, will also appear. You can enjoy a special moment in a heart-fluttering, photogenic space that looks great no matter where you take a picture.
