YOSHIKI Performs with Diana Ross; Surprise Appearance in Osaka Following Tokyo Success

On Monday, May 25, YOSHIKI made a surprise appearance at Diana Ross's concert in Osaka, delivering a special performance following his appearance at the Tokyo show on Saturday, May 23.

YOSHIKI first appeared at Diana Ross's concert held at K-Arena Yokohama on Saturday, May 23. Introduced by Diana on stage, his sudden appearance was met with roaring cheers from the audience. During their performance of the classic hit 'If We Hold On Together,' Diana requested that he 'keep playing the piano,' to which YOSHIKI instantly responded, elevating the song into a long version with improvised arrangements. The performance was met with thunderous applause and became a hot topic on social media.

Following the success of the Tokyo show, an impressed Diana Ross personally offered YOSHIKI an invitation to the Osaka concert. YOSHIKI promptly rescheduled his trip to the U.S. to fulfill the request. According to insiders, Diana was stunned by YOSHIKI's performance and was delighted by the confirmation of his participation in the Osaka show.

At the Osaka concert, after Diana Ross thanked the packed audience, she introduced YOSHIKI as 'a very, very special guest.' The moment she asked, 'Do you know who the special guest is? May I introduce... YOSHIKI!', the venue erupted in cheers.

After the performance, YOSHIKI spoke with Diana about his upcoming concerts at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles this July. Diana expressed her interest by asking about the concert details and saying, 'I want to go to your Disney Hall concert, too,' raising expectations for their future reunion.

YOSHIKI commented, 'While many artists follow a set stage script, Diana improvises and maneuvers her music freely, which deeply impressed me. I was able to keep up thanks to my daily practice, but I felt a true artist's spirit in those ad-libs. I am truly grateful for this collaboration and would love to perform with her again, perhaps at the Disney Hall.'

YOSHIKI is scheduled to receive the 'Medal of Honor' from the Entertainment Community Fund on June 1 in New York, becoming the first Japanese artist to do so, with a performance planned at the event. The following day, he is scheduled to head to Paris, where further announcements are expected.
