YTGATE Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Yutaro Takahashi; hereinafter referred to as "YTGATE") will commence a business alliance with Japan Post Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Shinya Koike; hereinafter referred to as "Japan Post") on April 1, 2026, with the aim of preventing fraudulent receipt in EC transactions.

Overview of the Initiative

YTGATE's strengths lie in its advanced analytical capabilities, improvement know-how, and track record of collaboration with card companies, cultivated through consulting for improving payment approval rates and support for preventing fraudulent use for EC businesses. Japan Post, on the other hand, has played a vital role as social infrastructure for many years, based on its nationwide logistics network and delivery track record.

In current online shopping, there is a "dilemma" where strengthening fraud prevention measures compromises user experience, while prioritizing user experience makes fraudulent use more likely. This initiative aims to resolve this dilemma by combining the strengths of both companies, providing a smooth purchasing experience for legitimate users while appropriately blocking malicious users, thus achieving both.

In this initiative, YTGATE will utilize its SaaS product "YTGuard," which provides integrated services for fraud detection, cart abandonment prevention, and visualization of payment data, to conduct "payment health checks" and optimization support for EC businesses nationwide. While assuming the deterrence of fraudulent transactions, the goal is to achieve both sales maximization and risk reduction for EC businesses by improving and maintaining high payment success rates.

Starting with this collaboration, we will create an environment where EC businesses can expand their operations with peace of mind, and promote the construction of a sound and reliable EC transaction infrastructure that allows consumers to purchase and receive products safely and smoothly.

Background of the Collaboration

With the expansion of the EC market, fraudulent credit card transactions have become a significant social issue. According to the Japan Credit Association (JCA), the cumulative amount of damage from fraudulent credit card use is projected to exceed 51 billion yen in 2025, with the scale of fraudulent damage remaining at a high level. Furthermore, while measures such as the mandatory 3D Secure implemented in April 2025 have shown some success in curbing fraud centered on number theft, fraudulent methods are becoming more complex and diverse, with counterfeit card damage increasing by 22.0% year-on-year. In this situation, countermeasures that rely on information from individual domains such as payment, delivery, and receipt make it difficult to fully capture signs of fraud and respond accurately.

Based on this recognition of the challenges, YTGATE and Japan Post have reached the conclusion that "addressing fraud throughout the entire transaction flow, without segmenting payment and logistics, is essential for enhancing the reliability of EC transactions and, consequently, for improving the safety of society as a whole," leading to the commencement of this initiative.
