The Sumida Street Jazz Festival Executive Committee (Chairman: Kentaro Taga) announces the outline for the "Sumida Street Jazz Festival 2026" to be held on October 17 (Sat.) and 18 (Sun.), 2026.

In addition, we will announce the first headliner, "Mahogany Organ All-Stars," as well as information on the concurrently held food and beverage content, and the start of volunteer staff recruitment.

This autumn, Sumida Ward will once again transform into a giant live stage. We are preparing to ensure that everyone, from families to music fans, can easily enjoy a relaxing autumn holiday.

[What is Sumida Jazz?]

"Sumida Street Jazz Festival" (commonly known as "Sumida Jazz") is a music event held every autumn in Sumida Ward, Tokyo, with free admission to all venues.

Various artists gather at approximately 30 locations, including parks, commercial facilities, and streets within the ward, enchanting the entire town with the magic of music.

The biggest appeal of this festival is that it is supported by the passion of the people involved in Sumida Jazz, centered around the local community.

For the past 15 years, approximately 700 citizen volunteers have come together, with local residents, corporate sponsors, and musicians working as one to nurture this event.

In its 16th year, we continue to provide a warm space where people connect through music and anyone can easily experience authentic music.

Policy

A festival that takes place in the city of "Sumida, City of Music," supported by citizen volunteers, where everyone involved – participants, organizers, and even those who just happen to stop by – can share a fun time and space.

[First Headliner Announcement]

We are pleased to announce the first wave of artists who will passionately color Sumida Jazz 2026!

The first headliner this year is the four-member organ jazz unit "Mahogany Organ All-Stars," who captivate audiences with their jazzy, funky, and catchy sound.

They are actively performing both domestically and internationally, including an appearance at the Vienna Jazz Festival. Their overwhelming live performance, featuring a passionate, superb groove and melodic ensemble, is a must-see.

Many artists who support the purpose of this event will be delivering powerful performances on the "Sumida" stage again this year.

[One Coin Oktoberfest / Gibier Festival]

Enjoy music while also experiencing the local people and food culture.

The food and beverage area, which attracts many visitors every year, is another star of "Sumida Jazz."

Craft breweries and unique restaurants carefully selected by the executive committee will gather, offering a variety of foods including gibier dishes. This year, new plans are also being prepared for the food and beverage area.

Details about the vendors and plans will be announced sequentially, so please look forward to them.

This is a unique craft beer event of Sumida Jazz where carefully selected craft breweries gather, allowing visitors to easily sample their signature brews for one coin (500 yen). In addition to discovering new beers, interacting with brewers is also a highlight. With a wide selection of alcoholic beverages such as Japanese sake and soft drinks, it offers a unique festival moment to toast while enjoying the music.

A food event that conveys the message, "Eating deliciously leads to protecting forests and regions." A variety of gibier dishes will be gathered, including venison and wild boar, as well as "ocean gibier" such as whale. This is a unique Sumida gibier festival where you can deliciously and enjoyably experience the concept of "making full use of life," which is also connected to Sumida Ward's local leather industry.

[Volunteer Recruitment]

The executive committee is looking for companions (volunteer staff) to create this massive music festival from scratch with us!

In fact, all members of the organizing committee, including the chairman, are volunteers.

There are no strict restrictions on age or qualifications.

All that is needed is pure enthusiasm: "I like doing fun things," "I want to create something new," and "I love festivals."
