NTT DATA (Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo), a global leader in AI, digital business, and technology services, announced the opening of its new office in Dublin, Ireland. The new office will support the continued expansion of NTT DATA's customer base in Ireland and is part of a total investment plan of €16.5 million in the Irish economy. This investment will primarily be allocated to research and development (R&D) in AI and digital services through collaboration with companies and academic institutions, as well as job creation. NTT DATA has created 100 jobs in Ireland since January 2025, expanding its local workforce by approximately 50%. The company plans to hire an additional 50 people in the next six months and further expand its business.
Ireland is growing into one of Europe's leading advanced technology hubs, driven by its vibrant digital economy and highly skilled workforce. NTT DATA, an innovation-driven company operating in 70 countries and regions, views Ireland as a key market and is expanding its customer base to include insurance companies, banks, and telecommunications providers such as Three Ireland and eir. The opening of the new office demonstrates NTT DATA's commitment to supporting Irish companies with the latest research findings and technologies, while also promoting the responsible enterprise use of AI on a large scale. To commemorate the official opening of the new office, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in Dublin, attended by Peter Burke, Ireland's Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, and Manabu Miyagawa, Japan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ireland.
Additionally, a technology demonstration showcasing NTT DATA's innovations was held at the event. As part of this, Trinity College Dublin, an R&D partner, gave a presentation on IOWN (Innovative Optical and Wireless Network). IOWN is a technology that can improve power efficiency by 100 times and communication capacity by 125 times compared to current networks, while reducing end-to-end communication latency to 1/200th, enabling the sustainable growth of data-intensive services without a proportional increase in energy consumption.
