Hitachi Energy has announced a €4 million (approximately $4.7 million) investment to establish a new service center in North Park, Dublin, scheduled to open in autumn 2026. This investment will support the resilience of Ireland’s transmission and distribution grid.
Ireland’s power system is currently undergoing a major transformation. Electricity demand is rapidly increasing, driven by digitalization and the growing number of data centers with high power consumption. At the same time, with the share of variable renewable energy in power generation rising, ensuring long-term stable electricity supply and enhancing the resilience of the power system have become national priorities. As a result, there is an increasing need to strengthen lifecycle services that support the renewal of aging energy infrastructure.
To meet these evolving needs, Hitachi Energy will open a new service center in North Park, Dublin. The center will provide services for critical transmission and distribution equipment, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and digital services, supporting the modernization and upgrading of Ireland’s power infrastructure. The company will also work closely with customers to advance long-term initiatives in innovation, partnerships, and sustainability.
The new service center will include customer training facilities and a customer operations center, providing support to utilities, industrial customers, and data centers. This initiative is part of Hitachi Energy’s global investment plan to invest $1 billion worldwide, expand its service delivery capabilities and service portfolio, and train and deploy over 5,000 new service specialists globally.
Furthermore, this new facility demonstrates Hitachi Energy’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its business foundation in Ireland through continuous investment in talent and infrastructure. The investment will promote job creation and further expand the company’s operational presence in the country. Designed for operational efficiency, the new service center will optimize business processes and modernize equipment, while operating to industry standards with excellence in HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment).
