Bringing 'Work' Closer to High School Students: What is 'Happywork Okinawa'?
When high school students conduct job searches, their primary source of company information is job listings. However, job listings alone cannot fully convey a company's appeal—such as job responsibilities, workplace atmosphere, and employees' motivations.
'Happywork Okinawa' is a job guidebook designed for high school students to address this challenge.
By featuring company profiles, interviews with veteran employees, photos that convey job content and workplace atmosphere, the guidebook delivers information that helps students vividly imagine themselves working at these companies. It also aims to connect local companies, schools, and families by being utilized by parents and schools, thereby expanding the option of working locally.
Currently published in Kagoshima, Kumamoto, and Okinawa, new editions are planned for Saitama, Saga, and Nagasaki in 2026. The initiative is expanding nationwide to connect high school students with local companies.

Clear Positive Feedback from Companies and Schools in the First Year
In its first year, 'Happywork Okinawa' featured 150 local companies and received high praise from many businesses and schools.
Reflecting on the first year, Brain Okinawa Co., Ltd. stated:
"Having experienced numerous sales initiatives, this is the first time we've seen companies so willing to listen. While labor shortages are a societal challenge, more importantly, we've felt a strong desire among local companies to convey their appeal to high school students."
Additionally, during school visits, career guidance teachers shared:
"Materials explaining employment are mostly text-based and difficult for high school students to understand. Having a booklet like 'Happywork,' which includes photos and employee voices, makes it much easier to use in career guidance."
This feedback highlights strong appreciation from the education sector as well.
Looking ahead to the second year, they added:
"Currently in Okinawa, some high school students choose to work outside the prefecture based solely on salary and other conditions, without sufficient information about companies. This leads to early resignations due to mismatches after employment. While working outside the prefecture is a great option, we hope students first learn about local companies and choose career paths that suit them. To support high school students' futures, it's essential for adults—including schools and communities—to work together, not just individual companies."
Nippon Travel Okinawa Joins to Support Regional Career Education
Nippon Travel Okinawa Co., Ltd., newly joining in the second year, actively engages in solving regional challenges alongside its travel business.
One such initiative is organizing company visit bus tours for high school students, creating opportunities to experience real workplaces by visiting local companies.
While advancing these efforts, the company's desire to 'increase opportunities for students to learn about local companies' aligned with the vision of 'Happywork Okinawa,' leading to their participation.
Nippon Travel Okinawa commented:
"We strongly resonate with the ability to deliver company appeals beyond job listings to high school students. By combining 'Happywork Okinawa' with company visit bus tours, we aim to provide students with opportunities to discover the jobs they truly want and career paths that suit them in the future."

"Supporting high school students not as a single company, but as an entire community"
Moving forward, the project will actively recruit participating companies and provide information to high schools, advancing preparations for the March 2027 release of the 'Happywork Okinawa 2026 Edition'.
Alliance Co., Ltd., Brain Okinawa Co., Ltd., and Nippon Travel Okinawa Co., Ltd. will leverage their respective strengths to create an environment where each high school student can choose a career path that suits them.
