IMPACT STARTUP SUMMIT 2026 to be Held on October 7th, Gathering Startups Tackling Social Issues

The Impact Startup Association (Impact Startup Association, hereinafter referred to as ISA), which aims to balance "solving social issues" with "sustainable growth" and bring positive impact to society, will hold its in-person event "IMPACT STARTUP SUMMIT 2026" on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. This event, which allows attendees to experience the forefront of social impact, will take place at the "Tokyo Tatemono PIA Theater & Conference" within the TOFROM YAESU TOWER, directly connected to Tokyo Station (Yaesu, Chuo-ku, Tokyo).

This summit, held for the third time, will gather a diverse group of stakeholders, including startups tackling social issues, government and local authority representatives, investors, large corporations, startups, and students. As social issues become more complex and difficult to solve with existing mechanisms alone, impact startups are expected to play a role in advancing social implementation with new technologies and business models while bearing public responsibility.

This year's theme is "Public Spirit and Disruptive Innovation," aiming to share the current status of impact startups advancing to the social implementation phase and create opportunities for future co-creation.

What is IMPACT STARTUP SUMMIT

"IMPACT STARTUP SUMMIT 2026" is an annual event that brings together a diverse range of stakeholders, including government and local authority representatives, investors, large corporations, startups, and students, centered around impact startups striving to balance the resolution of social issues with sustainable growth. This event will showcase the forefront of challenges that bring impact to society, covering areas such as environment, education, primary industry, healthcare, regional revitalization, deep tech, and finance. Through sessions, pitch contests, exhibitions, and networking, it aims to be a place where diverse participants can learn together, connect, and foster opportunities for future co-creation.

Last Year's Event Performance

Over 1,100 people, including government and local authority representatives, investors, large corporations, startups, and students, participated in last year's "IMPACT STARTUP SUMMIT 2025."

Under the theme "Impact Showcase - A Fair of Social Issue Solutions," leaders from government, business, academia, and various fields, along with entrepreneurs and experts active at the forefront of solving social issues, took the stage. Through sessions, pitch contests, exhibitions, and networking, it served as a platform to share the current state of impact startups and the possibilities for collaboration towards social implementation.

About the Impact Startup Association

Impact startups are defined as companies that aim to balance "solving social issues" with "sustainable growth." ISA was established on October 14, 2022, with the objective of building an impact startup ecosystem and realizing a sustainable society.

We are working to create an environment where numerous startups that generate positive impact for creating a better society, in collaboration with government, industry, and academia, can be born and grow continuously. Currently, there are 325 impact startups (Note 1) that resonate with the association's purpose and are active as full members, and 15 supporting members (Note 1) that support the expansion of the impact economy by agreeing with our mission.

We will continue to work energetically towards the realization of "solving social issues" and "a sustainable society" with the support and cooperation of our full and supporting members.

Furthermore, ISA is recruiting administrative staff to support its expanding activities. We are currently receiving many consultations and requests from various sectors, including government, industry, academia, and research. We are looking for members who can commit to administrative tasks as key individuals leading the association's operations, aiming to achieve ISA's purpose through co-creation with a wide range of stakeholders.
