Accor, the world-leading hospitality group based in Paris, France, operating 5,800 hotels in over 110 countries, is proposing eight diverse summer contents for the summer of 2026 to help guests positively enjoy the heat at its hotels across Japan. In recent years, Japan's summers have become exceptionally hot, with the Japan Meteorological Agency officially designating days with temperatures of 40°C or higher as 'extreme heat days' this past April. This has led to a shift in travel needs, where guests prioritize 'stay-cation' styles that emphasize 'coolness,' 'nighttime,' and 'comfort within the hotel' rather than just sightseeing. This summer, Accor's domestic hotels are proposing summer time where the hotel stay itself becomes the purpose of the trip, featuring activities such as midsummer snow play, lantern-lit nights, terrace dining, and global gourmet experiences.

[Cool-cation for Cooling Down] Grand Mercure Nasu Highlands Resort & Spa will host the 'Summer Snow Splash in NASOBO 2026' event for three days from July 24 to July 26. Novotel Okinawa Naha will open its 'BBQ Terrace' for a limited time, offering a resort-like night experience overlooking the Naha cityscape from the Shuri hills.

[Nighttime Hotel Experiences] Grand Mercure Ise-Shima Resort & Spa will hold the summer-exclusive event 'Matoya Village Summer 2026.' Pullman Tokyo Tamachi will offer a 'Summer High Tea' from June 1 to August 31. Mercure Yokosuka is currently running the 'Adult All-You-Can-Drink Plan 2026' until August 31.

[Global Gourmet Summer Trips] Mercure Sapporo will host the summer-exclusive event 'La Terrasse du Provence' starting June 19. Novotel Nara will feature an 'Uzbekistan x Nara Early Summer Ethnic Buffet,' and Swissôtel Nankai Osaka will host the 'Summer International Lunch Buffet,' offering a sense of world travel through food.
