Grand Mercure Beppu Bay Resort & Spa, located in Hiji Town, Oita Prefecture—the 'Onsen Prefecture' surrounded by lush mountains and the sea, and adjacent to the famous hot spring destination of Beppu—is introducing a new benefit for guests staying in 'Hello Kitty Rooms' from July 1, 2026 (Wednesday). Each guest will receive a set of three exclusive, original-design Hello Kitty items: a mini mascot, a face towel, and a drawstring bag. These items are inspired by the resort atmosphere of Beppu Bay and traditional Japanese summer scenes.
The merchandise comes in three designs: 'RESORT,' featuring a refreshing blue-and-white striped outfit; 'HANABI,' depicting a Japanese summer with a navy yukata; and 'TENNYO,' a glamorous style featuring a soft pink kimono-inspired dress with a large ribbon. These designs are tailored to the room type, serving as a perfect memento of the trip.
During the summer season, the hotel will host the 'Beppu Bay Summer Program,' an experiential event unique to the resort overlooking Beppu Bay. The program includes traditional craft workshops, music events, a garden pool, and a night pool. By combining the immersive world of Hello Kitty with experiences in the nature and local culture of Beppu Bay, the hotel offers a resort stay perfect for family trips, girls' getaways, and summer memories, suitable for all generations.
