Ethical Spirits Co., Ltd., a distilling startup from Kuramae, Tokyo, aiming to share a new culture of craftsmanship with the world by extracting value from unutilized materials, will launch 'Re:GIN Mottainai Yuzu Gin Soda.' This product features 'Mottainai Yuzu,' a key component of the 'Mottainai Fruits Action' led by Dole. Sales will begin in limited quantities sequentially from May 27 (Wednesday) at 350 Aeon and Aeon Retail stores in the Honshu and Shikoku regions.
'Mottainai Yuzu' is an extract made from the peels of yuzu grown in Kochi Prefecture—which accounts for half of Japan's production—that were typically discarded after juicing. By extracting at low temperatures without any solvents or water, the natural aroma of the yuzu is preserved.
This gin uses 'Mottainai Yuzu' as its key botanical, along with over 10 other 'Mottainai' ingredients. It is based on Ethical Spirits' product 'LAST EN' and crafted to highlight the scent of 'Mottainai Yuzu.'
