In recent years, the construction industry has been advancing DX initiatives and work-style reforms. However, voices from the field suggest that 'introducing new IT tools hasn't made things easier.' AnyONE Inc., provider of the construction efficiency system 'AnyONE,' conducted a survey on overtime and administrative burdens among 300 site workers nationwide. The results revealed that the primary cause of overtime is not 'on-site troubleshooting' but 'administrative tasks such as creating estimates, invoices, and daily reports, and Excel entry after returning to the office.' It was also found that about half of the site staff experience the 'double work' of re-entering data recorded on-site once they return to the office. Furthermore, the survey highlighted that excessive administrative burdens are impacting employee motivation and turnover intentions. Based on these results, we analyze the current state of administrative burdens in the construction industry and the potential for DX utilizing cloud integration. (Summary omitted) The survey results clarify that 'administrative work after returning to the office' is a major burden for site staff. In particular, the redundant task of re-entering data is leading to increased stress. As a solution, the 'AnyONE' system allows for centralized management of customer data, construction management, and document creation. It enables data entry and sharing from smartphones, helping to reduce the need for re-entry. Its Excel-like UI makes it easy to adopt even for those unfamiliar with IT tools.
