Sailor Pen Renews "Ink Studio" Brand for Global and Art Scene Focus

Sailor Pen Co., Ltd. (President: Mitsuru Tamura, Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) will launch "INK STUDIO" on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Sailor Pen product retailers nationwide.

From "Ink Studio" to "INK STUDIO"

"Ink Studio," the color ink newly produced based on the know-how cultivated at the "Ink Studio" event and customer feedback obtained through color matching of over 20,000 colors, will be reborn as "INK STUDIO."

The lineup will be refreshed from the conventional 100 colors to "a total of 50 colors," which includes 40 colors carefully selected based on the results of the "Ink Studio General Election" held in January of this year and the overall balance, plus 10 new colors to expand expression in illustrations and drawings.

This renewal aims to position the brand for the global market as well as the art scene where people enjoy creating with ink.

● New Packaging Focused on Paper Quality, Customizable with Ink

The packaging uses carefully selected paper quality with excellent ink absorbency and color development. Customers can draw or color on the package using the ink inside, allowing for maximum enjoyment of ink creation.

● "Top Color Sample" Function for Easy Storage Identification

An illustration of the ink bottle is placed on the top surface of the package. By coloring this illustration with the ink inside, it serves as a color sample that allows for immediate identification of the ink color when stored on shelves.

● Improved Design and Visibility for Comfortable Multi-Color Use

Large color numbers are placed on the front of both the bottle and the package. This design prioritizes convenience and visibility for users when using multiple colors side-by-side, especially in drawing scenes such as plants, buildings, and animals.

"10 New Colors" to Expand Expressive Range

While adjusting the overall color balance, 10 new colors (321, 232, 271, 336, 467, 574, 674, 778, 862, 968) have been added, focusing on tones that are easy to use for illustration production. This will further enrich drawing expressions such as color mixing and gradients.

About the "Ink Studio General Election"

Prior to the renewal to "INK STUDIO," a user voting campaign "Ink Studio General Election" was held in January of this year, targeting all 100 colors of "Ink Studio."

The 40 colors continuing from "Ink Studio" were selected based on the popular colors that ranked high in this voting result.

Selection was not based solely on ranking, but also involved a multifaceted review of color harmony and overall color balance, considering the practicality of "INK STUDIO" in the global and art scenes going forward.

Sixty colors from "Ink Studio" that will not be carried over to "INK STUDIO" due to this renewal will be available for made-to-order sales on Sailor Pen's official online store, "Sailor Shop."
