Techfirm, Inc. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Shingo Chihara; hereinafter 'Techfirm'), a provider of ICT solutions, has supported the development of 'FlexPayDirect,' a corporate payment service offered by Resona Bank, Ltd. (hereinafter 'Resona Bank'). This service is Japan's first multi-bank payment service for corporations that enables users to complete everything from invoice verification to payment execution within a single business software application, and supports usage across multiple bank accounts.
Resona Bank aims to implement this service into its corporate payment offerings to streamline corporate accounting operations and create a new payment market. As a DX partner, Techfirm was responsible for the entire process from requirements definition to the construction of a financial-grade system, contributing to solving the challenge of digitizing bank transfer operations in corporate accounting.
A New Corporate Payment Experience: Check Invoices and Complete Payments on the Spot
In corporate accounting, while invoice management has been digitized, the execution of payments still required logging into internet banking separately and importing transfer data, remaining as the 'final hurdle' in the digitalization of accounting tasks.
'FlexPayDirect' is a service that integrates payment functions using bank accounts into B2B invoice platforms and business software. After confirming invoice details, a series of payment tasks, from withdrawal from the company's own account to the transfer to the business partner, can be completed solely through operations on the business software. This streamlines corporate finance and accounting tasks and evolves daily payment operations into a simpler and smoother process.
<Japan's First Multi-bank Payment Service>
The key feature of this service is its ability to support accounts from multiple banks through a business model that has acquired a patent*. By consolidating payment functions that were previously separated by bank, companies are no longer constrained by the banks they deal with and can complete payments on the business software they use daily.
Resona Bank will implement this service into its existing corporate payment infrastructure (FlexPay), supporting payments across 29 banks. Full-scale deployment is scheduled for 2026.
*Japan's first: As a corporate payment service that allows completion of the process from invoice verification to payment within a single business software application and supports cross-bank account usage. *Patent Registration Number 7618082
Comment from Resona Bank, Ltd.
Since this project involves handling payments, it had two characteristics: ensuring 'system safety' and responding with a 'sense of speed' to keep up with the changes in the corporate payment market.
Techfirm understood the characteristics of this project and provided proposals with an awareness of the situations in which users would utilize the system.
As a result, we believe we have built a safe and highly convenient payment infrastructure. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude.
Techfirm's Support: Transforming New Business Concepts into Implementable Financial Systems
In this project, Techfirm did not stop at being a mere system contractor; they were responsible for the entire scope from requirements definition to development, testing, and quality management. While realizing an unprecedented payment scheme, they also supported the verification of legal compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and built a cloud infrastructure with financial-grade availability and security. Even in the design of payment APIs, they achieved a balance between the safety required for financial services and the development speed necessary for new businesses, embodying Resona Bank's concept into a concrete system.
