Desamis Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Koji Kiyake; hereinafter 'Desamis') has launched the AI business support feature 'U-Concierge' on its cattle behavior monitoring system 'U-motion®'.
U-Concierge supports users by answering questions about how to use U-motion, in addition to reading individual identification numbers via AI-OCR and assisting with confirming and registering individual animal information. This reduces the effort required for registering newly introduced cattle and verifying individual information, thereby improving operational efficiency at livestock farms.
Leveraging AI expertise gained through previous tools such as the communication platform 'Chumly,' Desamis will continue to gradually expand AI functionalities available on U-motion.
Development Background: Reducing On-Farm Workload to Increase Time with Cattle
In livestock farming operations, many tasks such as registering newly introduced cattle and managing records require manually searching for information based on individual identification numbers and entering data by hand.
In particular, when registering multiple cattle at once, staff must repeatedly confirm and re-enter individual data, increasing workload and the risk of input errors.
To address these challenges, Desamis has developed 'U-Concierge,' an AI-powered feature that supports the confirmation and registration of individual animal information directly within U-motion.
By streamlining individual animal data management, Desamis aims to create an environment where farm staff can focus more on daily animal care and management.
Key Released Features
- Supporting U-motion Usage
The AI instantly answers questions such as: 'I want to know how to read the calving alert index' 'I would like to confirm the meaning of an estrus alert'
Information that previously required contacting customer support can now be accessed instantly when needed.
Note: Desamis will continue to offer traditional customer support to meet diverse customer needs.
- Supporting Cattle Registration with AI-OCR Auto-Reading
By combining AI-OCR functionality, users can photograph lists or documents containing individual identification numbers and directly register them into U-motion. This streamlines the verification and data entry processes for multiple cattle, significantly reducing operational burden.

Going forward, the company plans to enhance functionalities that support daily farm operations, including individual information registration, various data entry tasks, and monitoring cattle health status.
In the longer term, Desamis aims to build a foundation where AI can support both on-site operations and management decisions by leveraging the feeding management data and operational records accumulated within U-motion.
Desamis will continue to implement AI solutions in practical, step-by-step ways, contributing to solving challenges such as labor burden and workforce shortages in the livestock industry.
