Biography of Dr. Paula J. Dobriansky

A renowned expert in international security and foreign policy.

Currently serves as Vice Chair of the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security at the Atlantic Council and Senior Fellow at Harvard University’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.

Over a 30-year career, she has held several high-level positions in the U.S. government, including Under Secretary of State for Global Affairs, Director for European and Soviet Affairs at the National Security Council (NSC), and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs.

She also served as the U.S. President’s Special Envoy for Northern Ireland and received the Department of State’s highest honor, the Distinguished Honor Award.
