National Azabu Co., Ltd. (Head Office: 4-5-2 Minami-Azabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Tomoo Fukumura) will host 'Romania Days' at its international supermarket 'National Azabu' Main Store from July 18 (Sat) to July 20 (Mon), 2026, in collaboration with the Embassy of Romania, offering visitors a chance to experience the country's rich culinary culture.
Three Special Highlights of 'Romania Days'
During the event, three engaging programs will be held inside the store, allowing guests to deeply explore Romanian cuisine and culture. Enjoy a unique, immersive dining experience that feels like traveling to Romania itself.
1. Tasting and Sale of Historic Romanian Wines
Romania boasts one of the longest winemaking traditions in Europe. We have carefully selected high-quality Romanian wines that pair exceptionally well with Japanese cuisine. Throughout the event, three varieties will be introduced with expert commentary, allowing guests to savor their complex and rich flavors.
2. Special Event by 'Gabi's Cucina & Cafe'
We welcome Ms. Gabriela, chef and owner of 'Gabi's Cucina & Cafe,' a Romanian cuisine specialty restaurant based in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture. The event will feature a limited-time sale of rare, handmade traditional sweets crafted using authentic Romanian methods. Items include 'Walnut Confection,' served at embassy banquets, as well as traditional pastries such as 'Cozonac' and the crescent-shaped cake 'Semiluna.'

3. Tasting and Sale of Traditional Natural Fruit Paste 'Plum Magiun'
We will offer tastings and sales of 'Plum Magiun,' a traditional plum paste long cherished on Romanian dining tables.
Magiun is made exclusively from fresh, fully ripened, premium plums, with no added sugar, artificial sweeteners, or preservatives. This all-natural confection relies solely on the natural power of fruit. We will also suggest delicious ways to enjoy it—not only with bread and yogurt but also as a flavorful accent in savory dishes.
