Newell Brands Japan LLC Coleman Division (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Yutaka Nakasato; hereinafter "Coleman") will hold a user-participation SNS campaign, "Your Episode Becomes a Manga!? Coleman Japan 50th Anniversary Camp Episode Submission Campaign," from May 1 (Friday) to May 18 (Monday), 2026, to commemorate Coleman's 50th anniversary in Japan.

In this campaign, we will solicit episodes from campers on X (formerly Twitter) under themes such as "Common Camp Experiences" or "Camps I Want to Experience." Grand Prize winners (5 in total) will have their selected works adapted into 4-panel manga by 5 popular manga artists active on social media. By visualizing outdoor experiences through the approachable expression of manga, we aim to convey the fun and appeal of camping to a wide range of generations. Additionally, Excellence Award winners (5 in total) will receive original Edo Kiriko pair glasses adorned with the 50th-anniversary logo, made by Kimoto Glass, and Coleman Award winners (140 in total) will receive original bandanas with a 50th-anniversary limited design.

Campaign Background

Coleman, founded in the United States in 1900, began its brand expansion in Japan on May 12, 1976. In 2026, it will celebrate its significant 50th anniversary in Japan. This campaign was planned as an "anniversary initiative that puts the experiences and feelings of people who have enjoyed the outdoors with Coleman over the past 50 years at the forefront." In recent years, outdoor activities have transformed from special experiences into a casual lifestyle that families and friends can easily enjoy. In this campaign, we adopted the participatory and empathetic expression of manga as a way to share such familiar outdoor lifestyles.
