The "PMA Conference," organized by the international non-profit Pilates organization Pilates Method Alliance (hereinafter, PMA), has been recognized as the world's premier international conference in the Pilates industry since its inception in 2001. In 2026, it will be held as the "Pilates Synergy Summit 2026" for two days on July 11 (Sat.) and 12 (Sun.) at the Shanghai Marriott Hotel City Centre in Shanghai, China. Under the theme "One Method, One Community," Pilates instructors, educators, and studio owners from China, Asia, and around the world will gather to share and discuss international Pilates education standards.

It has been decided that Junko Sakurai, Representative Director of Pilates Method Japan Co., Ltd. (Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture) and a direct official successor of Mr. Pilates, will speak at the summit.

A Venue for International Exchange Continuing from Asia's First Conference

The "Pilates Synergy Summit 2026" follows the "Phoenix Rising Conference," PMA's first large-scale conference in Asia held in Foshan (Guangzhou) in 2025, and is increasing its presence as a hub for international Pilates education in Asia.

Following her participation in PMA's first conference in Asia in 2025, Sakurai has once again been selected as a presenter this year. Among the presenters gathered at the "Pilates Synergy Summit 2026," Sakurai is the only one to speak at a PMA conference for two consecutive years.

First Japanese Pilates Educator to Present Two 2-Hour Workshops

Furthermore, this is the first time in history for a Japanese person to be invited twice as a presenter to conduct the main 2-hour workshop at a PMA conference.
