Fujitecom Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shinichi Moriyama) conducted a technical presentation and exhibition at the '7th Information Council Meeting' of the Water ICT Information Council, held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Shinjuku NS Building.
On the day, the company exhibited its cloud-based IoT remote leak monitoring system 'Leaknets Cellular LNL-C,' which leverages DX technologies to prevent social losses from water leakage accidents and enables advanced preventive maintenance of water pipelines. A prototype of the next-generation model currently under development was also displayed for reference.
During the technical presentation, Fujitecom introduced the concept of 'Smart Risk Management'—a new approach to protecting water infrastructure. Based on the current challenges facing water infrastructure, the presentation outlined the framework of 'Smart Risk Management,' which integrates AI-based risk assessment, IoT remote leak monitoring systems, water pressure and flow monitoring systems, and a geographic information integration platform. The company also provided specific case studies demonstrating how water utilities can leverage this approach to address their operational challenges.
Event Highlights
At the exhibition booth, visitors observed equipment setups simulating real-world field conditions. Fujitecom explained the current state of aging water infrastructure and the mechanisms of remote leak monitoring in water pipes, effectively communicating the value of daily monitoring using Leaknets Cellular for risk management.
The next-generation model under development also attracted significant interest, particularly regarding its new features and expected benefits.
Fujitecom sincerely thanks all visitors who stopped by its booth.

[Introducing the Cloud-Based IoT Remote Leak Monitoring System – Preventing Water Leaks Before They Happen]
Water infrastructure faces the serious challenge of aging. Amid frequent natural disasters and labor shortages due to population decline, the risk of leakage accidents continues to rise over time, even before aging pipes are replaced. Remote leak monitoring is the only viable method to prevent such incidents during the interim period before pipeline renewal.
'Leaknets Cellular LNL-C,' which leverages AI, IoT, cloud computing, and advanced sensing technologies, is a cloud-based system that enables continuous remote monitoring. It prevents leak-related accidents and improves inspection efficiency, realizing preventive maintenance and sustainable pipeline management.
Main Exhibition Contents
Cloud-Based IoT Remote Leak Monitoring System: Leaknets Cellular LNL-C
This system performs daily monitoring of minute vibrations caused by leaks in water pipes using IoT sensors installed on the pipelines. Data collected and recorded by high-sensitivity sensors are analyzed using Fujitecom’s proprietary hybrid judgment algorithm, combining AI and cloud-based analytics. When a leak is detected, immediate alerts are sent via email or social media to smartphones and PCs. This enables rapid on-site response at the first sign of a leak, significantly reducing the risk of major accidents.
[Implementation Results]
The system has been implemented in over 100 municipalities nationwide, with monitoring deployed at more than 5,000 locations. It has been adopted in various scenarios, including immediate leak detection after disasters, monitoring of high-risk transmission and distribution pipes, and surveillance of pipelines along busy national highways.
