Prometric Japan, in collaboration with Gakken Co., Ltd., a group company of Gakken Holdings, announced on June 1, 2026, the introduction of a Computer Based Testing (CBT) system for Nara Gakuen University's 2027 school recommendation-based entrance examination (B-schedule). This initiative aims to improve convenience for examinees, streamline exam operations, and ensure fairness and security. As university entrance exams face challenges regarding the expansion of testing opportunities and operational efficiency, the CBT method, which utilizes test centers nationwide, is gaining attention. Nara Gakuen University decided to adopt this method to provide an environment where students can take exams regardless of their residence or travel distance. The exam is scheduled for November 21, 2026, and candidates can choose between the traditional paper-based testing (PBT) at the university campus or the CBT method at test centers. Gakken will provide operational support through its 'Admission Compass' service, while Prometric will manage the test center network and exam administration.
