Mazda Mihiro Office Co., Ltd. (CEO: Mihiro Matsuda) announced that a short drama adaptation of "Nani mo Shinai. - The Best Habit of White Space" (Subaru Sha), a book by Mihiro Mazda, known as a "white space artist" and expert in questioning, will begin streaming on YouTube on July 4, 2026, at 6:00 PM. Yuki Shimizu, a story producer who was captivated by the original work's proposal of "white space" as an alternative in an era of overwork, volunteered to direct the drama. The cast includes Makoto Ogawa, formerly of Morning Musume, and the author, Mihiro Mazda, himself will also appear. The drama aims to depict the "pauses," "silences," and "white spaces" that cannot be fully conveyed through text.
Short Drama "Nani mo Shinai."
Background of the Release (Why Now)
In modern society, where filling one's schedule is the norm, the question of how to reclaim "white space," or "doing nothing," is paramount. As burnout syndrome becomes a social issue and interest in well-being grows, the choice to "do nothing" is gaining attention not merely as rest, but as a philosophy for living authentically. The original book, "Nani mo Shinai. - The Best Habit of White Space," focuses on consciously creating white space amidst a busy daily life.
This production visualizes elements such as facial expressions, pauses, and silences, which are difficult to express in writing, through short dramas of approximately 2 minutes per episode. This marks the first time author Mihiro Mazda has had his work adapted into a short drama.

"The philosophy of white space, 'Nani mo Shinai.,' cannot be fully conveyed through text alone. I wanted to convey the invisible things that flow between people – expressions, pauses, silences, gazes – through video," (Mihiro Mazda)
