(Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as "our company"), which operates KANADEMONO, a personalized furniture brand that proposes over 9,000 furniture combinations, will begin accepting applications for the second round of "THE RUG crafted with MIYOSHI RUG / NEKO," a fully custom rug made from photos of beloved cats, on Monday, July 6, 2026.

This project is a one-of-a-kind custom rug born from a collaboration between "Nekodamono," an interior style proposed by KANADEMONO that cherishes life with cats, and MIYOSHI RUG, which creates handmade rugs based in Tokushima.

The biggest appeal is "expression that embraces your cat's identity." We carefully capture the unique characteristics of each cat, such as the color of their eyes and nose, distinctive patterns, and ear shape, and reflect them in the rug's design. Artisans who inherit Japan's traditional tufting techniques meticulously craft each high-quality rug by hand.

In the first round, held in February this year to coincide with "Cat Day," we received 178 applications for 10 winning slots (an application success rate of approximately 18x), and many cat lovers expressed their desire for a resale on social media and other platforms.

To respond to this enthusiastic reception, the second round introduces the "full-body type," which was highly requested, in addition to the previous "face type." The full-body type is a big size with a maximum side length of 180cm, offering the ultimate "cat x interior" experience where you can admire your beloved cat on an overwhelming scale.

This is a collaboration between cutting-edge technology and traditional craftsmanship, where KANADEMONO's proprietary AI prompts design the rug from customer's cat photos, and artisans in Tokushima finish each one by hand. It not only expresses a warm texture and comfortable feel that cannot be achieved with mass production but also embodies the desire to support and pass on traditional local techniques and industries that have been shrinking due to aging populations and depopulation.
