[Fukushima DC Special] 'Iwaki Daimatsuri' to be held in Iwaki City, Fukushima | Featuring Sky Lanterns, Live Music, and Product Exhibits

Event Overview

Iwaki City and the Iwaki Tourism and Convention Bureau will hold the 'Iwaki Daimatsuri' at Onahama Aquamarine Park on June 6 (Sat) and 7 (Sun), 2026, as a special project for the Fukushima Destination Campaign and to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Iwaki City's municipal organization.

This experiential event centers on the themes of 'Food, Culture, Music, and Exchange,' showcasing the attractions of Iwaki. The venue will host a variety of activities, including the launch of magical sky lanterns, live performances by the comedy duo 'Doburock,' a special concert by the popular band 'Kariyushi58,' and a product exhibition featuring friendly and exchange cities.

Highlights

### Sky Lantern Launch On the night of June 6 (Sat), a participatory sky lantern launch will take place. The countless lights floating into the night sky from the Onahama coast will create a fantastical atmosphere.

### Special Live Performances 'Doburock' will perform on June 6, and the popular Okinawan band 'Kariyushi58' will hold a special live concert on June 7, bringing the event to a climax.

### Iwaki Grand Product Exhibition PR and product booths from various regions, including Iwaki's sister and exchange cities, will gather to showcase regional attractions, including marine products, agricultural goods, and local delicacies.

Access

During the event, free shuttle buses are scheduled to operate between JR Izumi Station and Onahama Aquamarine Park.
