The Engaru Forest of Okhotsk Roadside Station (Engaru Town Tourism Association) will begin selling Engaru Town-produced red wine, "Kokuyo Rouge 2025," on its official online store. This product is made using 100% grapes cultivated in the Engaru Town Shirataki fields by Agri Nexus Co., Ltd., a group company of Watanabe Gumi Holdings Co., Ltd., and was produced through a consignment manufacturing agreement with Hokkaido Wine Co., Ltd.

Previously sold at the roadside station's physical store and other locations, it is now available for purchase on the online store to be easily delivered to customers nationwide.

This product uses "Meivu," a wine grape variety cultivated in the Shirataki region, known for its particularly harsh winters in Engaru Town. We deliver a red wine with a pleasant acidity, fruity flavor, and a clean finish, nurtured by the rich local nature and challenging climate, to customers across the country.

Background of Kokuyo Rouge

Watanabe Gumi Holdings Co., Ltd. (Watanabe Gumi Co., Ltd.) has been working on the production of Engaru Town wine since 2018.

Its group company, Agri Nexus Co., Ltd., cultivates the "Meivu" wine grape in its fields in Engaru Town Shirataki, and manufacturing is entrusted to Hokkaido Wine Co., Ltd. in Otaru City.

Kokuyo Rouge, first sold using 2024 vintage grapes, had 739 bottles produced and sold out to great acclaim.

In its second year of release, Kokuyo Rouge 2025 produced 2,530 bottles, significantly exceeding the previous year.

It is expected to become a new specialty product of Engaru Town.
