The UN Global Compact Network Japan (GCNJ), based in Shibuya, Tokyo, and led by Representative Director Yoshinori Isozaki, has released the Japanese version of the 'UN Standards of Conduct for Business on LGBTIQ+ Gap Analysis Tool.' The tool is available for free and allows companies to evaluate their current practices in promoting LGBTIQ+ equality in the workplace, marketplace, and community. It helps identify gaps and opportunities and supports the creation of action plans for improvement. Individual company names and scores are not disclosed. The tool was developed by the UN Global Compact in collaboration with BSR, the Partnership for Global LGBTI Equality (PGLE), the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), and the World Economic Forum (WEF), with support from the Boston Consulting Group. The Japanese version was translated pro bono by the Lawyers for LGBT & Allies Network (LLAN) and Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu, with support from GCNJ.
