The Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Japan (CCBJ) will hold the "19th Brazil & Latin Festival 2026" for two days, July 18 (Sat) and 19 (Sun), 2026, at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo. Admission is free. The stage program is scheduled to run until 8:00 PM on July 18 (Sat) and until 7:00 PM on July 19 (Sun), with the food, merchandise, and service areas open until 8:00 PM on both days.

Over 20 artists, dance groups, and bands with ties to Brazil, Japan, and Latin America will perform on stage, presenting approximately 15 hours of live programming over the two days.

A wide range of genres will be showcased, including Samba, Bossa Nova, Pagode, Forró, Hip Hop, MPB, Pop, Rock, and Latin music. Scheduled performers for July 18 (Sat) include Zenkyu Ogawa, Vem Pagodear, Davi Zew’s, Misto Quente, Carnavacation, Yu Ishigaki & Band, and Shamanz Latin Band & Jorge Dias, Mariangela. Scheduled performers for July 19 (Sun) include Kimobig, TYObaby, Each Eyes Country, Pasión Latina, Leo Nakayama & BR38, Via Brasil, Bonyushu, and Takako Samba. The finale will feature "Pagode do Ramos," led by former Brazilian professional soccer player Ruy Ramos, who is also well-known in Japanese soccer circles. His daughter, Fabiana, will also participate on stage, delivering a live performance with a bright, Brazilian atmosphere.

Misto Quente

Five samba teams that participate annually in the Asakusa Samba Carnival – Liberdade, Saúde, Alegria, União dos Amadores, and Bárbaros – will perform live and parade at the Brazil & Latin Festival.

Simone and Fumio Almeida will serve as MCs for the stage program over the two days. Kenji Kawai, the executive committee chairman, expressed his gratitude to the sponsoring companies, related organizations, artists, volunteers, vendors, and supporters who have long supported this event.

As a new initiative this year, an "Artist Booth" will be set up within the venue. This will be a space for visitors to interact with artists and performers after their stage appearances, featuring introductions to their work, photo opportunities, information on related merchandise, and special projects.

Food, Merchandise, and Services

The food area will feature food stalls and food trucks with ties to Brazil and Latin America. You can enjoy a diverse menu including churrasco, feijoada (a dish of black beans and pork simmered for several hours), Brazilian craft beer, caipirinha (a cocktail made with cachaça, a distilled spirit made from sugarcane, lemon, sugar, and ice), açaí juice, churros, shaved ice, tapioca, hot dogs, crepes, and Argentinian empanadas.

The merchandise and service area will offer items such as Havaianas sandals, Brazilian beachwear, cosmetics from the Amazon region, and products related to Brazilian and Latin culture. Booths providing safety, disaster prevention, lifestyle information, and residency information from public institutions and partner organizations, as well as programs for children, are also planned.

Festa Junina

This year, as part of an initiative to introduce the atmosphere of Brazil's traditional "Festa Junina" festival, a quadrilha folk dance performance is planned. Festa Junina is a popular event held across Brazil from June to July, associated with Saints Anthony, John, and Peter. It is enjoyed in various ways by different regions through music, traditional food, and partner dances.

On the day, "Kimobig," a group promoting Brazilian culture in Japan, will perform a quadrilha with many members, livening up the venue.

Capoeira

The Brazil & Latin Festival 2026 will feature performances, rodas, and workshops by multiple capoeira groups. Capoeira is an expression of Afro-Brazilian culture that fuses elements of dance, martial arts, music, sports, and community. It originated among people of African descent as a form of resistance and cultural expression and is now cherished worldwide as an important traditional art form symbolizing Brazilian culture.

Special Exhibition Connecting Brazil and Okinawa/Yaeyama

As one of this year's new projects, a cultural exhibition titled "Brazil and Okinawa - Antipodes" will be held. Okinawa has deep ties to Brazilian immigration. From the Yaeyama Islands, located at the southernmost tip of Japan, this special exhibition will deliver "Sound, Taste, and Discovery" starting from Ishigaki Island. It will connect Brazil and Okinawa/Yaeyama, located on opposite sides of the globe, through memories of immigrants, music, food culture, and regional attractions, offering visitors a new perspective on cultural exchange.

This exhibition connects Brazil and Okinawa through the symbolic theme of "antipodes." It will showcase the relationship between Brazil, Okinawa, and Yaeyama, which are deeply connected through immigrant history, music, food, and cultural discoveries, despite being geographically distant on the map. By incorporating cultural elements from Ishigaki Island and the Yaeyama Islands into the festival venue, it will convey to visitors the historical and cultural bridge connecting Brazil, Okinawa, and the Japanese-Brazilian community.
