The Japan A2 Milk Association (Furano, Hokkaido; Representative Director: Yuichiro Fujii) has officially designated June 2nd as 'A2 Milk Day,' certified by the Japan Anniversary Association. The goal is to make A2 milk a staple in daily life.
To commemorate the day, the association is collaborating with the women's rugby team of Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine to hold a tasting campaign. On June 6, 2026, at Toko Store Oyachi, Moriyama Dairy's 'MORIYAMA A2 Hokkaido Delicious Milk' will be available for sampling. This product uses steam sterilization and aseptic filling technology to achieve a 120-day shelf life at room temperature, facilitating exports to markets like Singapore.
A2 milk contains the A2 type of β-casein protein, which is believed to be easier on the stomach and may alleviate symptoms of lactose intolerance. In 2025, Professor Naoto Fukuyama of Tokyo University of Agriculture published a clinical study on Japanese subjects regarding A2 milk.
Since its establishment in 2020, the Japan A2 Milk Association has been dedicated to disseminating accurate information. It also operates a certification system for products like 'Japan A2 Association Hokkaido Milk' and 'Kahokugata A2 Farm Milk.' Currently, certified A2 milk is available in over 1,200 stores nationwide.
