◆ Annual Trends in Child Suicide Rates

Child suicide rates are rising year by year.

While adult suicide rates are decreasing, child suicide rates continue to climb.

Last year, 538 elementary, middle, and high school students died by suicide—an increase of 9 from the previous year—and the highest number since records began in 1980 (Showa 55). Japan is the only G7 country where suicide is the leading cause of death among children. Tragically, even suicides among children aged 9 and under—unthinkable in the past—are now occurring.

◆ The Reality and Isolation of Single-Parent Households

According to the National Survey of Family Income and Expenditure (Reiwa 4), the most common annual income bracket for single-mother households is under 2 million JPY.

Rising prices in recent years have made daily life even harder. Families must cover food, living expenses, education, and other essentials. With little government support, what we can do is walk alongside these families and bring warmth to their hearts. We believe that joyful childhood memories are essential nourishment for the soul.

Location: Asakusa Hanayashiki Address: 2-28-1 Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo Date and Time: August 29 (Sat), 2026 — Park opens at 18:30, event from 19:00 to 21:00 Participants: Single-parent families (benefit recipients) Support Provided: Admission to Asakusa Hanayashiki amusement park, unlimited rides on 15 attractions, light meals and beverages, sponsored souvenirs, and planned workshops including body jewelry experiences and balloon art

◆ Crowdfunding Support Details

We aim to increase the number of invited guests based on funding received, starting from a minimum of 100 participants.

Estimated costs include private rental admission (all rides, tax included, same rate for adults and children) and light meals estimated separately at 1,000 JPY per person.
