Anime Tokyo Station, Japan's anime exhibition hub operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Association of Japanese Animations, serves as a facility that disseminates the appeal of Japanese anime to the world with the motto "Making ANIME More Interesting, Carrying ANIME to the Future." As of June 28, 2026, we have welcomed 302,957 visitors from Japan and abroad.

This summer, Anime Tokyo Station will hold various special events under the theme "Anime Tokyo Station's Summer Festival 2026" during the summer vacation period.

As the second phase of events, we will host "Let's Watch Anime Together" sessions and fun kids' courses and workshops.

The "Let's Watch Anime Together" sessions, titled "Eiken Classical Selection," will feature anime produced by Eiken Co., Ltd., an animation production company founded in the dawn of television anime. Over two consecutive months, we will present masterpieces from the golden age of anime. On July 19 (Sun), we will screen "Tetsujin 28-go," and on August 16 (Sun), "Eigaman." Following the screenings, there will be talk sessions and quiz corners with prizes.

Four kids' courses will be held under the banner "Summer Vacation Exciting Courses!". The lineup includes: "The Joy of Acting!" on July 26 (Sun), "How Cell Animation is Made" on August 11 (Tue), "Anime Drawing Experience (Beginner Level)" on August 12 (Wed), and "Anime Drawing Experience (Intermediate Level)" on August 13 (Thu).

In addition, workshops will also be held. "Let's Make Origami Anime!!" will take place on August 8 (Sat), and "Let's Make Original Coasters!!" on August 22 (Sat).

Furthermore, original character-illustrated fans will be distributed throughout the summer vacation period from July 18 (Sat) to August 30 (Sun).

All these events are free to enjoy, so please take advantage of them for your summer vacation research projects!

Junji Kobayashi / Animator, Tezuka Productions Co., Ltd.

Worked at Mushi Production from 1966 to 1972. His debut work was "W3 (Wonder Three)."

After working as a freelance animator, he participated in the founding of Osamu Tezuka's Tezuka Productions (Anime Division) in 1978. He was responsible for key animation and drawing for theatrical films like "Phoenix 2772" and TV anime such as "Jungle Emperor" and "Black Jack." He also worked on the animation for "Jumping" (directed by Osamu Tezuka, 1984), which won the Grand Prix at the 6th Zagreb World Festival of Animated Films.
