Release of the '7th Edition World Chocolate Scorecard (2026)'

The Japan Tropical Forest Action Network (JATAN) announced the 7th edition of the 'World Chocolate Scorecard', evaluating the procurement policies of 80 global chocolate companies. While Meiji Holdings ranked first among Japanese firms for advancing traceability, Japanese companies generally lag behind Western counterparts driven by the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). The report stresses the need for Japanese firms to publicly disclose verifiable data on supply chains, deforestation, and farmers' living incomes rather than relying on ambiguous claims.
