The implementation of systems using deep learning was once the specialized domain of a limited number of researchers. However, generative AI, based on various accessible data, is now used in many services and systems. On the other hand, the relationship between source data and generated data, and their ownership, pose complex problems that are both old and new.
Furthermore, in terms of security, the premise of threats is significantly changing, with generative AI being actively utilized in attacks. Threat models, which have primarily focused on "code" and "people," are expanding to include "data" and non-human entities (AI agents) due to the widespread adoption of generative AI. Data contamination, misinformation, and social risks caused by misinformation are also becoming major issues.
This symposium will explain how the structure of intellectual property surrounding generative AI is changing, and how data itself can become a security threat, incorporating technical backgrounds and specific case studies.
