MSC Japan, the Japanese office of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), a global non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable fisheries, has launched its "Keep the Ocean Abundant: Choose the MSC Label" campaign, timed for the UN-designated World Oceans Day on June 8. The opening event held on June 4 featured MSC Ambassador Naoki Tanaka and comedians including Oswald, Don de Colte, and Kakeochi.

The event premiered a video showcasing the world's first MSC-certified hanging oyster farming. Tanaka reflected on his interactions with fishermen and the importance of sustainable fishing. He warned that with 36% of global marine resources currently overfished, choosing the MSC "blue eco-label" at supermarkets is vital to ensuring future generations can still enjoy seafood.

The event also featured the "MSC Fish Personality Test," which matches participants with one of 16 fish species based on their personality. The comedic segment drew laughter as guests' characteristics were likened to fish behavior. As part of the campaign, participants who post their results on X can win an MSC original recycled paper leisure sheet, with 300 prizes available.
