SKINLABO conducted a survey of 300 people who are considering or have undergone spot treatment. The results show that 66.7% (200 people) prioritize clinics that propose treatments tailored to their specific spots. This was followed by clear pricing (58.3%, 175 people) and thorough explanations from doctors and staff (47.0%, 141 people). The findings highlight that patients value diagnostic accuracy, cost transparency, and clear communication more than just low prices.

When asked about key factors in choosing a clinic, the most common response was the ability to propose a treatment suitable for their specific spots (66.7%). This was followed by clear pricing (58.3%) and thorough explanations (47.0%). Other factors included low cost (39.3%), accurate identification of spot types (37.0%), and accessibility (34.7%).

Previous research by SKINLABO indicated that the primary anxiety regarding spot treatment is the fear of escalating costs (62.0%), followed by the burden of multiple visits (37.0%) and uncertainty about whether the treatment is truly suitable for their condition (36.7%). These results suggest that patients are looking for professional guidance and financial clarity rather than just the cheapest option.

Dr. Yoshiko Takada, a dermatologist certified by the Japanese Dermatological Association, commented: 'This survey shows that patients are not just looking for cheap treatments; they want to choose a treatment that fits their condition with confidence. Since spots vary in type—such as senile lentigines, melasma, freckles, or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation—the treatment approach must be tailored accordingly. Choosing a clinic that offers clear explanations and comprehensive aftercare is essential for a satisfying treatment experience.'
