The Projection Mapping Association of Japan (HQ: Shibuya, Tokyo; Representative Director: Michiyuki Ishita) is about to hold the '1minute Projection Mapping Competition' (hereafter 'International Competition'), one of the world's largest projection mapping competitions originating from Japan, at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. A collaboration featuring Ado's music has been decided for the opening ceremony of the International Competition! It is a special four-day-only program that combines projection mapping with a light performance by the globally active MPLUSPLUS DANCERS.

The 13th '1minute Projection Mapping Competition' will be held as one of the main contents of Tokyo's new light spectacle, 'TOKYO LIGHTS 2026'. The screening schedule for the competition is four days: May 23 (Sat), 24 (Sun), 30 (Sat), and 31 (Sun). On the 30th, the announcement of the five award-winning works, including the Grand Prix, and the awards ceremony will take place. Each session will open with a show titled 'Special Opening feat. Music by Ado,' using a medley of songs by the world-renowned singer Ado. Creative director Michiyuki Ishita, who has been the general producer of this competition for many years, is handling the planning and direction of this project, creating a new, dynamic, and large-scale experience that fuses music, light, dance, and video. The cutting-edge next-generation performance team MPLUSPLUS DANCERS and their support dancers will engulf the venue with a light performance, creating a special production that merges with Ado's worldview through projection mapping. Please enjoy this dynamic performance that can only be seen during this period at the Citizens' Plaza of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 1. (*Ado herself will not be performing.)

To see this special opening, you must apply in advance for the International Competition's viewing area.
