The Setagaya Pan Matsuri Executive Committee announces the annual bread festival 'Setagaya Pan Matsuri 2026,' to be held over two days—October 31 (Saturday) and November 1 (Sunday), 2026—at Setagaya Park and HOME/WORK VILLAGE as main venues. Marking its 16th year, this year’s event will feature the theme 'DANCE with bread,' welcoming visitors on a grand scale as one of Japan’s largest bread festivals.

Last year saw 253 stores participate, with around 60,000 visitors

The 'Setagaya Pan Matsuri,' a beloved autumn tradition, celebrates its 16th edition this year. In 2025, the two-day event brought together a total of 253 participating stores and welcomed over 60,000 bread enthusiasts, establishing itself as one of Japan’s largest bread events. This year, the main venues will be 'Setagaya Park,' surrounded by lush greenery, and 'HOME/WORK VILLAGE,' a multifunctional complex launched last year. Visitors will enjoy a special two-day experience centered around bread, immersed in the refreshing autumn air.

Theme for 2026: 'DANCE with bread'

For us, 'DANCE' means more than just moving your body to music. It’s about joy, spontaneity, human connection, passion, and the freedom to be yourself. We see 'dancing' as those natural moments when your heart and life begin to move—sparked by the simple joy of discovering bread.

The Setagaya Pan Matsuri is not only a marketplace where bakers and bread artisans from across Japan gather, but also a space where diverse people meet and freely express their passions. We hope that the small yet powerful energy of joy—triggered by bread—will ripple through hearts, bodies, and the city over these two days.

The first event in 2011 attracted approximately 7,000 visitors.
