Nakanihon Capsule Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: 229-2 Arao-cho, Ogaki, Gifu; President: Toshiyasu Yamanaka) exhibited at 'ifia JAPAN 2026,' held at Tokyo Big Sight from May 27 (Wed) to 29 (Fri), 2026.
During the event, many visitors involved in product planning, R&D, purchasing, and sales planning from health food and supplement companies stopped by the company booth.
In this exhibition, alongside the company's core soft and hard capsules, they presented multiple product formats for health food and supplement OEM, including gummy supplements, their patented 'TC Gummy,' and protein puffs, which allow high protein intake in a snack-like format.
* 'TC Gummy' is a unique name created by the company, derived from 'Trehalose Crystal.'
Increasing Interest in Gummy Supplements: Many Consultations at the Exhibition During the exhibition, the company received numerous inquiries regarding 'gummy supplements' as a new dosage form for health foods and supplements, reaffirming their high level of attention.
Visitors expressed needs such as: 'We want to consider products that are easy to suggest to people who dislike tablets and capsules,' 'We want to develop health foods that can be continued deliciously and effortlessly,' 'We want to expand as products for younger demographics and women,' 'We are looking for formats that are easy to sell on e-commerce and in drugstores,' and 'We want products that are easy to pick up daily, not just like supplements.'
In the health food and supplement market, there is growing interest in formats that are easy to incorporate into daily life and maintain continuity. Gummy supplements, in particular, are characterized by their ease of flavor and texture design and the fact that they can be consumed easily, like snacks.
It is possible to design products that prioritize taste, appearance, and ease of consumption while incorporating useful ingredients, leading to increased consideration in product planning for broad targets including younger demographics, women, seniors, and those who dislike tablets and capsules.
'Eat and Continue': A New Choice for Health Foods For health foods, 'sustainability' (continuity) is as important as the ingredients and functionality. At the exhibition, many specific questions were raised regarding the commercialization of gummy supplements, including flavor development, texture, ingredients, packaging, and target demographics.
Consultations specifically focused on compatibility with the following product plans: - Beauty and inner-care supplements - Vitamin/mineral supplements and nutritional supplements like iron and zinc - Gut health and lactic acid bacteria products, sleep, and relaxation products - Products for children - Products for women - Products for younger demographics - Products for those who dislike tablets and capsules
Gummy supplements are a format that can be developed as more familiar and approachable products while remaining health foods. The company will continue to propose gummy supplement planning and development to match the target demographic, sales channel, ingredients, and flavor direction of its customers.
Presentation at 'Gummy Development Seminar' On May 28, a member of the company's development department spoke at the organizer-planned 'Gummy Development Seminar' titled 'Introduction of Gummy-Type Supplements Made by a Supplement OEM Manufacturer.' The seminar introduced the features of gummy supplements, development points, and commercialization strategies from the perspective of a supplement OEM manufacturer.
Details on 'TC Gummy' At the booth, the following points were introduced regarding the patented 'TC Gummy' developed by the company: 'TC Gummy' is a unique name derived from 'Trehalose Crystal' and is a new gummy developed focusing on the crystallinity of trehalose. By replacing the saccharides used with crystalline trehalose and drying, a uniform trehalose crystal layer is deposited on the gummy surface. This crystal layer covers the gummy surface, making it easier to suppress stickiness and adhesion between products, and can be utilized as a new finishing method for the gummy surface. This enables a new design approach called 'coating-less,' which differs from conventional finishing methods using glazing agents or powdered oblaat.
