New Material Used for eAxle Cover Adopted for the First Time on Lexus RZ

Sumitomo Riko Company Limited (Headquarters: Nakamura Ward, Nagoya City; Representative Director, President and CEO: Kazushi Shimizu) is pleased to announce that our eAxle cover has been adopted for the "Lexus RZ," an electric vehicle sold by Toyota Motor Corporation (Headquarters: Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture; President: Kenta Kon).

The eAxle cover adopted this time uses a new material, "high-stiffness urethane," which combines high sound absorption and rigidity. Compared to conventional covers with a composite structure combining resin and urethane, this product has the potential to achieve equivalent soundproofing performance with a single urethane structure. Furthermore, it simplifies fastening to the eAxle, reduces weight, and cuts CO2 emissions during manufacturing, contributing to improved workability during component assembly and reduced environmental impact.
