Welfare E-commerce Store 'Sadeco MONO-gatari' Celebrates 5th Anniversary: From 9 Facilities to 20, Boosting Sales and Bonds

The online store 'Sadeco MONO-gatari,' operated by the Saitama Design Council (in cooperation with the Saitama City Disability Comprehensive Support Center), will celebrate its 5th anniversary on June 10. Launched in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic with nine disability support facilities in Saitama City, the platform has fostered bonds between facilities and brought joy to workers through quarterly meetings and daily chat-based communication. Five years later, the number of participating facilities has grown to 20, and sales have increased. A limited-edition trial set featuring specialty items from multiple facilities will be sold from June 3, 2026, to June 10, 2026, for 3,500 JPY (tax and shipping included). The set includes 10 items from 8 facilities, such as rice crackers, herbal tea, madeleine cookies, donuts, and coffee. This platform is not just a sales venue; it includes a support system that nurtures the management, sales, and promotional capabilities of the facilities. Initiatives include quarterly reporting meetings, daily coordination via chat tools, product development support for new facilities, and upcycling projects in collaboration with the government. All participating facilities are Type B employment support offices, and product sales directly contribute to the wages of the facility users.
