JCI Nara to Host the 54th Nara Block Convention in Yamatokoriyama on June 27, Featuring NHK Taiga Drama Actors

The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nara Block Council (President: Tsugutoshi Kojiro) will host the "54th Nara Block Convention Yamatokoriyama" on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the DMG MORI Yamatokoriyama Castle Hall and Koriyama Castle Park.

This convention is designed to allow visitors to experience Nara's rich history, culture, and regional charm firsthand. The indoor venue will feature talk programs exploring the history of Nara and Yamatokoriyama with experts, as well as a special talk live featuring actors from the upcoming NHK Taiga drama (both requiring prior registration). At the outdoor venue, Koriyama Castle Park, there will be stage performances such as dance, music, and calligraphy by local students and groups, food trucks from across the prefecture, hands-on experience booths for families, and educational projects on carbon neutrality.

Faced with challenges such as population decline and youth outflow in Nara Prefecture, this convention aims to provide an opportunity for visitors to rediscover the charm of the region and foster a desire to continue living and engaging in Nara.
