For Artists 36 and Under: Call for Entries for the 2nd "MIMOCA EYE" Open Exhibition

The Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art (MIMOCA, Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture) will begin accepting entries for the open exhibition "2nd MIMOCA EYE" on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. MIMOCA holds this exhibition as a starting point for young artists who will lead the future to capture the times, create new expressions, and let their unique talents take flight. The "2nd MIMOCA EYE" invites contemporary art works from artists aged 36 and under, regardless of genre. Selected works will be determined based on application materials, and the Grand Prize and Jury's Personal Awards will be selected from the exhibited works. The Grand Prize winner will be offered the opportunity to hold a solo exhibition at MIMOCA as a supplementary prize, working with a curator to create the exhibition. The application period is from July 15 to September 15, 2026. Applicants must be 36 or younger as of April 1, 2026; nationality is open, but the ability to communicate in Japanese is required. Prizes include 1 million yen for the Grand Prize, 100,000 yen for Jury's Personal Awards, and 200,000 yen for selected works. The selection process involves three stages: primary (curator), secondary (jury), and tertiary (exhibited work review). The exhibition is scheduled to be held from April 24 to July 19, 2027.
