【Grant Objectives】

The program supports projects that contribute to the inheritance, development, and public awareness of the Expo's core philosophy of 'coexistence between nature and humans,' as well as initiatives promoting scientific, technological, and cultural advancements related to 'flowers and greenery,' including disaster recovery efforts.

【Eligible Fields and Funding Amounts】

Research Projects: Up to 1,000,000 JPY (covering up to three-quarters of directly incurred project costs)

Events and Activities: Up to 500,000 JPY (covering up to three-quarters of directly incurred project costs)

【Eligible Applicants】

(1) Public interest corporations (e.g., foundations, associations) (2) Specified Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) (3) Non-profit associations without legal personality, provided they have a designated representative

* National and local government bodies, corporations, and schools are not eligible.

* Groups, organizing committees, and activity clubs are eligible.

【Grant Implementation Period】

Any period between April 1, Reiwa 9 (2027) and February 29, Reiwa 10 (2028)

【Schedule (Tentative)】

July: Call for Applications ➡ October: Review Process ➡ February: Final Selection ➡ Grants Disbursed in Following Fiscal Year

【Past Recipient Organizations】

Research: Kubokawa Ihatov Nature Restoration Council (Iwate Prefecture)

Conducted joint surveys with researchers on vascular plants, aquatic insects, birds, and other species within the 'Kubokawa Ihatov World' area (approximately 10 km upstream of the Kubokawa River), compiling a species inventory as foundational data for biodiversity conservation. Hosted a presentation event to share the region's rich biodiversity.

Events and Activities: Kanazawa Children's Science Foundation (Ishikawa Prefecture)

Engaged elementary school students (grades 3–6) in exploring the 'Kakuma no Sato,' a community exchange hub established by Kanazawa University to commemorate its 50th anniversary, and its surrounding areas. Participants observed seasonal flora and fauna, learning about satoyama lifestyles and coexistence with nature.
