Handball Competition Draw for 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya

On July 23, 2026, the draw for the handball competition of the 20th Asian Games (September 20-30, 2026, Aichi-Nagoya) is scheduled to be held in Nagoya. This will be conducted by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in cooperation with the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organizing Committee (AINAGOC). The Japan Handball Association, a public interest incorporated foundation, announces that it has received notification from the Asian Handball Federation (AHF) regarding the participating teams and seeding. Men's Participating Teams (12 countries) Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, UAE, China, Hong Kong (China), Iran, Oman The 12 teams will be divided into Group A and Group B, with 6 teams in each group. Seeding will be determined based on the final rankings of the 22nd Asian Men's Championship held in Kuwait from January 15-29, 2026. As the host country, Japan has the right to choose its group, and the previous champion, Bahrain, will be placed in a different group from Japan. Seeding will be determined based on the final rankings of the 20th Asian Women's Championship held in New Delhi, India, from December 3-10, 2024.
